WHO: All Dualizens, old and new
WHAT: Your regularly scheduled NAPs event for the month
WHERE: Dualis Oasis
WHEN: Nov. 7-10
WARNINGS: Please use these if applicable!
Look at all of these bright, shining new faces! There’s even a few less bright, less shining faces - maybe even a few folks without faces - but hey, this city welcomes all types. Chances are, if you’ve just arrived, you're seeing some pretty crazy things, unless you're used to an eye-blinding amount of neon, robots, weird-ass technology, magic, and an omnipresent police force...and hey, if you are, congrats, you're gonna settle in juuuuust fine. But for the rest of you, the Head knows this has gotta be pretty overwhelming, right?
Well, since your quaint individual processing units are probably having a hard time, why not link up with another one? By which the Head means...
Hello, new citizens of Dualis,
and welcome to your monthly Network Adjacency Protocol~!
NAPs are a monthly community networking event similar to the Earth concept of speed dating! Two citizens (new arrivals and old hands alike) are placed at a table together with a handy cue card of queries to help break the proverbial ice. Ask queries and receive results, or ignore the card and yeet yourself straight into a brand new friendship! But don't be too shy, you've only got ten minutes together, and if you just sit in silence for the whole ten, the Network Admins are likely to come supervise and try to repair the uplink through a mild shock to the ol' central nervous system. You might find yourself saying all sorts of unintended facts about yourself if that happens...probably better to just make friends, right? Who doesn’t like friends?!
The weather outside may be taking a turn toward chilly, but you can still get your swim on during this month’s NAPs, held at the Dualis Oasis, an indoor temperature-controlled aquatic amusement park with giant slides, swimming pools, and lazy winding float rivers. Appropriate swimming gear is required for entry to this part of the park, but there are a number of shops just outside that will gladly sell you swimwear and accessories.
For those of you who wish to avoid a humid environment or just hate fun, a dehumidified lounge and restaurant offer quieter, dryer spaces for chatting and snacking. The actual speed-friending itself is in progress here, but you’re welcome to stick around and continue conversations with your new friends.
So c’mon, what are you waiting for? Just dive right in for fun and friendship - the water’s fine, fine, fine, just like everything else in this fair city. But hey, remember to play safe. No running!

Hey Aqua, don't mind, but there's a guy floating in the water close to where the slides deposit people addressing you, arms relaxing over the water's surface. He has to speak up to be head above the noise ricocheting in the enclosed space, the ensuing crashes of others coming down from the other slides loud, even with the distance between each one.
He laughs easily as he continues, waves one of his hands in a twisting motion. "Try going down on your front. Now that's a feeling!"
If she won't be stopped from above. ...if anyone is manning the slides from the top, anyway!

Agent South Dakota | Red vs Blue | OTA
South is on the hunt. She could be a regular person, just enjoying the water in her swimwear and whatnot. But no. She's looking for anyone who seems distracted and otherwise unsuspecting, that's close enough to the water for her to throw in. So far, people are either already wet so pushing them in wouldn't matter much, close enough to the water but seemingly on guard, or not near enough to the water to easily knock in.
She's just about ready to give up on being a dick and find another drink, when she spots someone. They look pretty well dry, not paying attention to her slipping up inch by inch until she's close, and they're right next to the water. Perfect. She doesn't hesitate, as soon as she's within striking distance, she catches a good grip of them and hauls them towards the looming water while laughing, thoroughly amused.
Lounge
South is somewhat more dressed when not in the water, her bikini still slightly damp but mildly covered with a pair of matching board shorts. Other than that, all she's bothered putting on is a pair of flip flops. They should just consider themselves lucky she's wearing this much!
She can be found slouching in a chair at one of the tables, god knows what number drink she's on but it's already half way down and she's still sipping away on it. She's not paying much attention to anyone, some have stopped to do this chit-chat bullshit and she gave them some attention, but mostly she's just in her own little world at the moment. Until another person plops down across from her and she finally fixes her gaze on them, finishing her drink before she gives a nod of acknowledgement.
"You gonna ask questions from their cue cards, or you gonna wing it?"
lounge ; speed friending!
is there a table, there is now. He tilts his head at her question, hair a little damp from his earlier ventures in the water, but the rest of him is dry enough: he's had the decency to put on a hoodie jacket and cargo shorts than to drag himself in here like a drenched puppy."Let's wing it," he decides easily, sitting the cards down. He retracts his arm, and gets comfortable in his seat. "How long have you been here?"
Because there's something about her that definitely says this isn't her first rodeo. Also, he knows better than to ask about scars on faces.

Naminé 🐚 Open to All
This wasn't anything like that.
Inside was loud, voices echoing off of the enclosed space, and the air was thick with a warm humidity that contrasted the chilly bite of cold outside.
Naminé wore a white bathing suit with golden accents. It was a little more revealing than she was used too but compared to others it was more conservative. This was her first time in a pool and it was all a little overwhelming. She focused on breathing, keeping the rhythm of her breath's steady in an attempt to stay calm. The embarrassment didn't help nor did the pink tint to her cheeks but Naminé was trying her best.
Life was all about new experiences, right?
i. entering the water
Naminé had always found something enchanting by it and she'd always wanted to see the ocean but this wasn't the ocean.
The concept of water was easy. Water was thicker and would lift her, except that Naminé didn't know how to swim. She knew how it should work. She'd seen others do it but this was the first time she'd been confronted with such a large expanse of water. Naminé walked over to the edge of the pool and then hesitated. She was at the shallow end, looking down at the three feet of water. She was tall enough to stand but it really was a lot of water.
She lowered herself to a seat at the edge of the pool and dipped her bare feet into the water. It wasn't as cold as she expected and it almost surprised her enough to cause her to gasp.
Naminé leaned forward, her blond hair falling to the front of her view as she stared at the shifting hazy form of her reflection.
It shouldn't be too hard to learn how to swim.
ii. lazy winding river
Swimming or not. Naminé managed to procure a large innertube to keep her floating above the water. She was covered from the waist down with her arms draped over the sides of the flotation device, her chin cradled in her hand as the currents of the slow moving river swept her in a lazy circle.
She wished that she could draw while she was in the pool but water and paper didn't comfortably combine.
"This is nice. I've never done anything like this before."
b. speed friending~
She was a little embarrassed after spending such a great deal of time in the water. Her skin was dotted with moisture and her fingers were pruned. Her blonde hair was still clumped with water but no longer dripping and she was wrapped up in a towel as well as an over shirt that was slowly getting soaked from her bathing suit.
There really was no easy way to dry off.
"Hello." She greeted anyone who spoke to her with a smile and a light pink tint to her pale cheeks.

Zack Fair | Final Fantasy VII | OTA
A. Speed Friending
These NAPs things? Zack's a SUPER huge fan. All the joy of meeting people with none of the need to come up with none of hte need to come up with an excuse to leave if the person was too awkward to really deal with. And some of the ice-breaker questions were pretty good too.
Like this one on his cue-card now. Zack grins and looks up at the person that has joined him for this round.
"I'm supposed to ask what your favorite kid's game was."
B. Up A Lazy River
This place is so great that Zack thinks he might just retire here. All the pleasures of water fun, and none of the effort. Or that's what he's decided now that he's on his fourth loop around the lazy river, flopped haphazardly over an intertube with flowers printed all over it. Yeah, this is the life. So much more fun than those weird giant slide things. They look like you could ge hurt or something. He's been in helicopter crashes before, he'll pass on anything that looks as 'exciting' as that.
"You think w can get drinks ordered to us here? A little tray that floats to catch up to you. It'd be perfect."
C. Splash Fest
Sometimes you just have to act like you're five years old, and right now, that's clearly what Zack is doing. He's found himself in the shallows of the water, splashing around with everyone and anyone nearby seems like the right way to let that need for fun out. So caution, if you approach you might well get a bit of a dousing from a guy splashing at whoever comes near.
But wait...
"Oops. Sorry! Didn't mean to splash anyone not in the war. I won't do it again."
Unless they splash him back.
b
At least until she hears someone close by asking about drinks. She glances over, seeing a head of spiky black hair and slightly familiar features. He's out of place, very out of place, and it's enough to completely distract her.
"Huh?" is all she manages at first, the rest of her train of thought completely derailed and dumped into the water. "I'm sorry. What did you say?"

David Alleyne | OTA
A. Speed Friending
The cards this month have a theme. David sighs as he flips through them between sips of his soda and waits for the next person to show up. Does he need to do this 'speed friending' thing again this month? Probably not. But it seemed like the right place to get used to the new swimwear he's bought and he feels like he should make a nod at socializing. The networking could be useful for future plans.
"What's your favorite water sport?"
B. Time in the 'Sun'
David isn't really the 'swimming' kind of person, truth be told. His preference when it comes to large bodies of water is that they be frozen over, skates be given out, and he be given plenty of space to put himself through his paces. But there is an appeal to bringing a good book with him, finding a lounge chair, and enjoying summer treats as the year starts to cool off, David's absolutely there doing all of that. With a lovely novel, actual sunglasses instead of his normal yellow shades, and an aura of peace and relaxation.
Which is rare for him. But he smiles and nods at anyone who comes past, and sometimes reaches out to select some fruit from the bowl of it at his side.
Though really, shouldn't he be in the water? Someone should drag him to it.
a
Tidus has no problem getting right into the questions. He's given the cards on his side something of a glance, but there's no need to look more when the questions have begun. Dressed himself in a zip hoodie and cargo pants, his hair is still a little wet from swimming, but he's relaxed in his seat, enjoying himself.
"What else is there?" He laughs a little. "Boat racing? Swimming?"
Not very serious options, by the tone of his voice.

Nida | Final Fantasy 8 | OTA
A. Speed Friending
"You ever been to a resort town?"
Nida doesn't even bother looking at his cards as he sits at one of the tables in the dry area, enjoying a salad with a towel slung around his neck. The only reason he even at down was because he liked company with meals and after a long day in and around the water park, he needed a snack to help him out. His hair is still wet, all of his make-up is gone, and none of that or the food detracts from the mess of scars that litter his body. The most prominent of which is the massive mess of them at his right shoulder that could be seen as a stab wound to someone experienced with scars and injuries, and another ugly one that is puckered down the side of his left leg. Fun. And he's got no shame about them.
"I pretty much grew up near one. This little ocean-side place that mark my words, someday it's going to be a resort town. It's got the vibe."
B. Slide Time... Eventually
This is what Nida's been doing for almost all of his day. The slides. They're wet, they're wild, they're intense. It's an adrenaline rush that he highly appreciates. The thing he doesn't appreciate?
The lines. They're pretty impressive at this point of the day, especially with the NAP going on here. Which means a really serious problem with the set up of this place. The lines go up stairs. Lots of them. That don't have very high banisters. It's an acrophobic's nightmare, and even those who don't have the fear might be nervous.
Nida? He's made for heights, and smiles as he leans back against a railing, waiting for the line to progress.
"Isn't this the absolute best? The heights, the rush, the water, the air. Fuck, where has this place been all my life?"
a!
"I'd like to see it." He knows that's unlikely, but the sentiment is honest all the same, a smile on his face. Tidus lets a pause sit before he actually answers: "I've been to places by the sea, but nothing you'd call a resort town... but my home was over the sea. An entire city, always awake."
He spreads out his arms as he mentions its capacity over water. "It would've made a pretty popular place."
For the fondness in his voice, there's a certain energy missing to its description. But his smile is still there, his relaxed composure.

If Ventus pries his eyes away from the ceiling and looks over to his left, he'll find Aleifr glancing at him from a few chairs down. Aleifr looks ... similarly out of place, shall we say. Instead of a swimsuit, he's wearing a loose-fitting, sleeveless shirt and shorts. Instead of flip-flops or bare feet, he's wearing his usual boots.
It all paints the picture of a man who's probably never been around a pool before, much less a water park. Despite that, though ... he seems to a fairly decent idea of what's going through Ventus's head. There's an amused little glimmer in his eye, and the barest hint of a grin playing on his lips under his thick beard.

Tidus | Final Fantasy X | Open
1: SWIMMING POOL
2: SPEED FRIENDING( a ) If there’s any place that can elicit a sense of peace in an otherwise active guy, it’s being submerged, water surrounding every fibre of him, the feeling of its pressure pushing against him. The noise becomes nothing more than a smothered mouth, and it’s—nice. He wants to adapt himself to it: to the laughter, the joy; easy pleasures that had starting to become foreign to him.
So if you happen to be swimming around the deeper end, don’t mind the guy who seems relatively relaxed in keeping in place below. He’ll even give you a wave if you stare, though he doesn’t always have his eyes opened.
(Don’t sleep in the pool, loser.)
( b ) Unfortunately, the thing about being so deep in is that you’re hard to notice for those making leaping dives, or any dives at all—and so poor person that was just trying to have a good time in the pool, you just knocked into something very solid down below, scrambling now against your own limbs.
And if you happen to hurry to surface, whatever you did knock into isn’t coming up itself. ...that’s fine, right?
( c ) You know what you should do after having one nasty surprise in a pool?
Why—engage in more.
He comes out abruptly from below, with the speed and athleticism of an experienced swimmer: a head of dirty-blond hair breaking out from the water right in front of the unlucky victim, a solid, ”Woo!” following for good measure.
And then, turning around a second after to who he’s found. “Oh hey, what’s up?”
(Unless you’ve somehow made a sneaky disappearance…!)
( d ) For all other activities, he will be a dork at the slides, or even giving an inflatable ball a punch around. ...or actually being very unimpressed with the balls around this place, searching around and maybe asking people, “Hey, there any blitzballs here?”, or even, “Is this all there is?” with an unloving bap of a multi-coloured ball trying its best in life.
Otherwise, feel free to make this guy a target for your own watery tricks. Let’s start a war.
You happy to be at this table right now, buddy? That’s fine, Tidus looks the picture of relaxed on the other side, his arms sometimes folded, or his hands sitting with the cue cards on the table's surface. Especially on his first few rounds, where his doesn’t mind reading from the options:
( a ) “If you could be anything, what would you be?” He raises his brow at his company, pulling something of a face. Please, just go along with it.
( b ) “This thing wants me to ask your favourite number.” Okay no, this one deserves to be judged.
( c ) “What do you do for a living?” Alright, that’s decent.
( d ) “What’s the place you’re like from?” Yeah, this is where he’s ditched the cards.
( e ) “What do you do for fun around here?” Might as well find out what's good.
Pick your...poi..son...??

Hank Anderson | Detroit: Become Human
So he goes to the warm, dry area, finds an empty beach chair, and settles in with a book to read. He's looking stylish in his fuckin' bright ass Hawaiian shirt and khaki shorts and cheap flip flops. This get up? Not suited for the time of year.
Alright, so what is this government-Head-approved mess he's got to skim over? Right. The Count of Monte Cristo. An oldie but a goodie. He'll just hang out here until Connor's ready to go home. It's simple enough to just dive into the text and ignore the distant shouts and splashes.
"Alright, mine's gotta be either Jaws or K-19 Widowmaker. I'd say Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea but god, it's been so fuckin' long since I read that shit I can barely remember it. Maybe I should pick it up again." He remembers liking The Abyss as a kid. And The Little Mermaid but the only one he gave a shit about was the crab.
This is the first time he's actually taken a notion to bother with the cards, likely because of the surge of pleasant nostalgia.

Yuna 🔮 Final Fantasy X/X-2 [Open]
I. SWIMMING
She had spent most of her life living on a island surrounded by crystal blue ocean and bright sandy beaches but it was only within the last two years that she'd learned how to swim well. She had joined the Besaid Aurochs blitzball team and had learned to hold her breath for over five minutes.
She'd never been in a pool like this but it was more practical than a sphere pool and it held more than enough water.
a. Yuna walked to the highest diving platform of one of the swimming pools and looked down below. It was a dizzying drop and she nearly got dizzy before pulling away her gaze and focusing on her feet. She exhaled a slow breath and then ran, jumping off the end of the diving board.
Her body was agile and while it wasn't a perfect dive, she did very well. The water splashed around her and she let the force of her dive curve once she was beneath the water.
She stayed down there for as long as she could before finally breaking the surface of the water. Hopefully she didn't freak anyone out when seconds turned into minutes of floating beneath the surface of the water.
b. Yuna also spent some time traveling up the endless staircases that lead to the slides. Whenever she reached the top she wore a wide smile, waiting her turn to drop down the winding slide to the pool below.
It was amazing!
Every drop was followed by a rush of adrenaline and a giggle that usually ended with a mouth full of water. Yuna didn't mind except that the water was filled with chlorine and it didn't taste very good. She spit it out and then would repeat the process all over again.
c. She could also be found lightly hitting a beach ball as if she was trying to test the weight of it. It wasn't heavy enough to be used as a blitzball but it could be used for some fun, if anyone was interested in a game of sorts.
II. NAPS
a. "What is your favorite month of the year and why?"
b. "What is the one thing about yourself that you'd like me to know?"
c. "What do you do for fun?"
d. "Do you believe if a cup is half empty or half full?"
e. "Do you believe in love at first sight?"
She wondered if these were normal questions.

1-a-ish with a twist
It's fine, for a while. She can enjoy the feeling of being under, keeping her body drifting in place and the way the water dulls the sounds above their heads. It's nice, or some people think so. Some people spend too long in water. Some people make it part of their lives.
Speaking of such a person, he's one of those who can creep in the blue with ease and speed. And he uses both now, for a little fun: swimming close enough to Yuna's back for the water surrounding her to brush against her, letting her know somebody just went by. But Tidus doesn't stop to let her see him, going deeper, curling around to hopefully meet her in her confusion.
Where he then rests a hand on her shoulder, settling it there; moving away only if she moves, a smiling waiting wide on Tidus's face for when (or if) she turns to him.
Hiya.

Domino | XMCU | OTA
[Ah, why the fuck not? Not like there's anything else going on. And a break sounds absolutely heavensent right now. Even if it is in the middle of whatever's going on. Nothing's blowing up so that's already an improvement over her recent life?
Might as well take a shot, at least. And that means she's wearing a swimsuit that's basically her hero clothes in swimsuit form (what a lucky find), floating in a tube down a manmade river because fuck it. That's a good enough reason, right?
But there is a small-ish problem.]
I can't decide if I'm actually relaxing or just too tired to be worried.
2. Pool
Eventually, Domino is done with the river (there's only so many times somebody can float in a circle before they get bored and she'd passed that threshold about two hours ago. Not that she changes her activity by much, moving from lounging in a tube on the river to a beach chair next to the pool for some "sun." Because that totally counts. At least it's dry?
And it lets her get a better view of the other people wandering around without seeming like a creep. Does people-watching count as creepy nowadays? It kind of feels like it would. But it's so interesting.
That excuse would smooth everything over, right?
1. Lazy River
She turns when she hears a voice at a nearby floating inner-tube and hummed softly.]
Being too tired can be relaxing. Like a forced vacation.
[Like many others she's wearing a dark maroon bathing suit that fit the theme.]

Arriving in a strange world was... half-better than the alternative that Aerith faced back on Gaia. However, some things were just too much, even for a girl who could hear the voices of those dead long before her. When she'd somehow found herself alive and breathing on a different world, it had taken her a few moments to really put it together that she was in fact alive and not on Gaia. She listened to the spiel given by those in charge and got her room assignment and the like.
However, she wasn't alone.
No, there was another brunette, standing not that far from where she herself stood. The other girl was wearing nothing but a bathing suit while the flower girl was wearing her ruined dress, jacket and boots.
"You know, I guess I'm glad that they're thought through all the necessities like living arrangements, but, um, new clothes or a map to where we can get more would be nice, right?"
B. Apartments - Room 604
Now that she's got a few more things to wear, aside from the clothes she died it, Aerith heads to her own room. She's supposed to have a roommate, but she's not aware of the name of the other person.
While the house she lived in with Elmyra Gainsborough was tiny, she'd still managed to have her own room in the little cabin. However, when she opens the door to her new apartment, she's a bit taken back by the size of the space. And, well, the other woman standing in the middle of the room.
"Um, hello? I suppose I'm your new roommate. Are you..." She checks her PHS for the information again. "Domino?"
C. Poolside
How can she say no to an indoor amusement park? The fact that this is a water park versus the indoor wonderland that is the Gold Saucer doesn't matter. Aerith is up for some fun and ready to enjoy her time here. She'd been looking forward to these meet and greets since she'd heard about it, and the fact that it's poolside this time is definitely a point in its favor.
Unlike the rest of her friends, she'd never really had much of a chance to enjoy the beauty that was Costa del Sol. She's sure that the group would go back to the beautiful beach town and spend more time in the sun. So, she's going to use this opportunity to enjoy as much of life as she can.
As such, she can be found lying by the pool on a towel, soaking up as much of the artificial rays as she can. And loving everything about her new bikini.
"Can you put some suntan lotion on my back?"
D. Lounge
Once she's done with the water, Aerith is ready to meet more new people. She puts on a wrap over her swim suit and heads inside the pool's lounge. She grabs a drink and sits a table to write down some good questions to ask anyone who comes up so that she can get to know them.
1. What do you do for work? And did you do it before you came here?
2. What is one thing about yourself that you're the most proud of?
3. What do you do for fun?
4. Do you believe in love at first sight?
5. What makes you laugh/cry?
As the person takes a spot across from her, she slides the list over and gives a beaming smile. "Hello, my name is Aerith Gainsborough. How are you today?"
B!
She beams a huge smile at the other woman with a nod. She can be polite when she wants to be.
"That's me. Bit of a surprise, huh?"

Thane Krios | Mass Effect | ota
Did someone say dehumidified lounge? Since his arrival he hasn't had the comfort of a dry space suitable enough for a drell's lungs. With the Kepral's in this stage it's difficult for him to find relief that isn't in the form of the dry air from a climate controlled room. Which is why whether Thane is here partaking in the NAPs for information gathering or not, he will stay in this room for quite a while, away from the tables with cards when he's had his fill of info gathering.
Naturally, he's not dressed for an oasis at all, sticking to his usual getup, but he's not here for the water-slides and rafts anyway. He does, at least, have a nice cup of hot tea that he finds soothing for when that familiar tightness in his chest returns. Nothing can completely take away the discomfort and pain from the disease but if he can at least enjoy temporary relief then he will do so.
Lounge
However, as she's roaming around to help with the whole not-going-to-work-drunk situation, she spots something that's both entirely new and unfamiliar, yet with a hint of enough familiarity that she has to stop in her tracks. Well not something, exactly, it's technically a someone.
The guy doesn't really look like a Covvie in any real way, honestly, but he's definitely not human and especially "mammal-humanoid enough" for her to look past anything alien. She has improved a hell of a lot with her opinion on non-human beings or aliens around, she's really not bias or racist against them anymore. There was even that, like, minotaur bullhorned guy she just met who she has zero problem with being non-human. But the skin's reptile-ish looking texture and the colors, they cause an immediate and involuntary flash of disdain, even surge of rage, at the idea of her world's enemies being here in any sense.
But he's not a Covvie, she explains to herself, he's just some greenish dude sipping what's probably tea, chilling out. Not part of the bastards trying to rip apart humanity planet by planet. Calm the fuck down. Chill the hell out. Take a breath and, maybe, possibly, at least somewhat consider not staring as long as you have been already. Look away bitch, at least blink or stop narrowing your eyes, Christ girl.

Patricia Tannis | Borderlands | OTA
How utterly pointless.
[Pandora being a desert notwithstanding (really what a waste of water), Tannis is very obviously not swimming--god only knows how filthy that water is with so many unwashed people frolicking around in it. She is, in fact, fully covered from neck to ankles, including a long-sleeved jacket. Definitely not swimming clothes.
She's glaring just a little bit; she should probably leave and go somewhere else since she's not getting in that direction water, god no, but where else is she going to go? Is she supposed to talk to people? That thought is almost worse than joining the people soup. Almost.]
Does no one have anything more important to do?
2. Lounge Since She's Expected to Not Be Horrified at Small Talk
[God, does she have to? Can't she just be left alone? Ever? But somehow she doubts that "how is about this weather we're having" is good enough for... whatever this is. Is this what people do in their spare time? Not conduct ethically dubious experiments with superbugs?
How boring their lives must be.
After a brief period of trying to hold out, she signs and then reads every question on the card she was given, completely unconcerned that she's... probably supposed to do one at a time.]
Oh, very well, let's get this overwith.
What do you wish you knew more about?
What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
What is the most annoying habit that other people have?
Aleifr | Warhammer 40,000 | OTA
In any case, it didn't hold much allure for him, but Mira had insisted that he might enjoy it more than he thought he would. She wouldn't tell him why, though, and his curiosity as to what the hell she thought he'd see in this eventually won out.
Once he arrived, though? Saw how everyone, particularly the women, dressed for this ...?
Made a little more sense. Even if he was just a bit annoyed at just how predictable he apparently was.
He didn't dress to swim. Wasn't planning on dipping a toe into the water, so he dressed the way that he normally does when the weather's warm here -- loose fitting shirt, shorts, and thick-soled boots. He didn't hop into the pool, but he spent a good deal of time lounging around them in the chairs that had been set up.
As for the lazy river ...? He didn't trust it. Not that he expected it to be trapped or anything, he was just intensely skeptical the floating rings they had people sitting in would support someone his size without sinking.
The lounge a little better suited to him - especially when, unlike the previous NAP, he could order more than one drink every damned hour.
The Lounge
She only somewhat glances over at first when someone else approaches the seat across from her, or just walks by, whatever. She's not paying enough attention to tell if it was coincidence they were near the chair, or if they were taking a seat. Either way, she does a double-take, looking up at the man with a slight upturn of her lips.
"Well you're a huge fuck." She says with a tone of amusement.

Steve Rogers |MCU| OTA
Steve stood staring out at the water. His stomach swooped at the thought of going in the water, figuring it probably the seventy years he spent frozen in the ice. Whatever the reason, Steve stood there staring, still not sure if he wanted to go in. He might be able to be convinced, he does have a suit on.
After Steve had enough of swimming and water in general, he went inside. He grabbed some snacks which consisted of enough for four, so he could share and some coffee. He glanced around, he made his way over to a table.
"Excuse me, do you mind if I join you?"
River
But when he's completed a full circuit of the river, which takes a good ten minutes, and Steve's still standing there? That's when Ven slips out of his tube, letting it drift on without him, and makes his way over to the stairs down into the water to grab one of the handrails to anchor himself and not get swept away. "Come on, what're you just standing there for?"

kyoko sakura | puella magi madoka magica | one closed, one ota
Floor six... All the way at the top. Figures. The whole thumbprint thing is like something out of a futuristic movie, but then, this entire city seems to be that way. It'd be overwhelming if Kyoko wasn't used to dealing with witch labyrinths.
Honestly, though, that's kind of how this entire thing feels like. It's like she just contracted and isn't used to fighting witches yet, and she got pulled through a barrier she didn't see coming. Disorienting, beyond unexpected... But at least in a situation like that, she knew what to do. It was simple: fight to survive. This...?
Kyoko stands in the doorway and stares into the dorm room. She's not sure what she was expecting, but after the searing neon lights and high tech and glimpses of magic she's seen on her way here? It's so bland and normal that she finds herself laughing, to her surprise.
"Are you kidding me?" she says aloud, shaking her head as she steps past the threshold.
[ NAPs ; lounge ; OTA ]
It feels weird to go to a party after everything that's happened.
Kyoko can't exactly say she's ever been to one at all, let alone specifically a pool party. The required swimwear thing is weird and annoying, but Kyoko isn't sure she wants to go to the water park anyway. It's one thing to play at an arcade by herself, but things like this are meant to be enjoyed with other people, and she's not really in the mood to play with strangers. What's the point of going to the pool if you aren't gonna annoy your friends by splashing around?
(... she doesn't want to think about this too much.)
It's better to spend her money on food, anyway, instead of a swimsuit she'd probably only wear the once. It's money she doesn't have to work for, and money she'll get more of next month, but that doesn't mean she's willing to waste it. Even if it means she has to play along with this whole "friend speed-dating" thing.
At least it's easy to come up with her own question, so she doesn't have to rely on the stupid cards.
"Hey, you've ordered something, right? Had anything good?" Kyoko is perched on an armchair, one knee drawn up. There are a couple of plates stacked up on one of the armrests, both empty except for crumbs. After asking her question, she takes a large bite from the pastry she bought. (It looks fancy enough it probably deserves to be treated better. It also looks more expensive than it actually was.) She's wearing jean shorts and a green hoodie, and given that she's bone dry, it's pretty evident that she hasn't been to the pool.
[ food hoarders anonymous ]
But the room? The room is actually the best he's seen in a long time. And this is a rare day in which he's actually decided to stay in it. Since his roommate left, it's not like anyone would complain if he did a little work.
What he doesn't expect is a young girl to come in. Slight of build but making up for it in girth of sound. He's sitting cross-legged on the bed, a mechanical device settled in his lap, screwdriver in his hand, and surrounded by candy wrappers and half-eaten bags of chips and even a few varieties of soda he's been digging at.
He gestures to the empty side of the room.
"Better than nothin'. Settle in. You the poor kid they saddled with me?"

Felicity Smoak | DCTV | OTA
Felicity was floating on the Lazy River if for no other reason than she was able to get a swimming suit before she entered the water park. Felicity sat in the tube, sort of in stunned silence. She couldn't believe that yesterday she was in a completely different City, living a completely different life and now she was floating in a raft on a river.
She couldn't help but look around her as she floated by, biting her lip, a nervous tick she picked up at a very young age, before nodding her head and smiling as she was helped out of the tube.
"Thank you," She said, pulling her hair up in a ponytail and pushing her glasses up.
Lounge/Speed Friending
Felicity eventually got tired of the water, changing into the one outfit that came with her, finding a table and sitting down. She sat at a surprisingly empty table her nerves once again returning in full force. She glanced around, twirling her ponytail around her fingers.

Sam Winchester
Sam does not do water period for various reasons. But he is always up for something to eat and the snack choices are fairly decent for someone who is choosy about what he puts in his body. He sips a diet soda that tastes like chocolate and nibbles some fruit that he doesn't know the name of as he people watches.
no subject
He had pulled his hat from the last city off, his hair a little messy, the leather jacket he had bough in the city was on, with a flannel shirt tied around his waist. Black jeans and a black shirt, that was a little bleach stained on under the jacket. His boots were untied... he had never mastered tying his shoes. It had been cheaper to buy black in the city than the colors he usually wore just didn't feel right with the way he had felt before he had a small repair done to himself. Now the black felt to dark but he had what he had.
He had bypassed the pool, walking with his hands at his side in that forever slightly stiff way he tended to walk, he made eye-contact with Sam as he had been walking for the door, already ready to bail out of the whole thing when he stopped, realizing... that was really Sam there eating fruit. He bit his lip then and turned quickly to head out the door. With the way Dean reacted in the other city, and not remembering him, his heart couldn't handle the idea of Sam being the same. He couldn't fly here, so he just walked briskly.
