Look at all of these bright, shining new faces! There’s even a few less bright, less shining faces - maybe even a few folks without faces - but hey, this city welcomes all types. Chances are, if you’ve just arrived, you're seeing some pretty crazy things, unless you're used to an eye-blinding amount of neon, robots, weird-ass technology, magic, and an omnipresent police force...and hey, if you are, congrats, you're gonna settle in juuuuust fine. But for the rest of you, the Head knows this has gotta be pretty overwhelming, right?

Well, since your quaint individual processing units are probably having a hard time, why not link up with another one? By which the Head means...

Hello, new citizens of Dualis,
and welcome to your monthly Network Adjacency Protocol~!

NAPs are a monthly community networking event similar to the Earth concept of speed dating! Two citizens (new arrivals and old hands alike) are placed at a table together with a handy cue card of queries to help break the proverbial ice. Ask queries and receive results, or ignore the card and yeet yourself straight into a brand new friendship! But don't be too shy, you've only got ten minutes together, and if you just sit in silence for the whole ten, the Network Admins are likely to come supervise and try to repair the uplink through a mild shock to the ol' central nervous system. You might find yourself saying all sorts of unintended facts about yourself if that happens...probably better to just make friends, right? Who doesn’t like friends?!

The weather outside may be taking a turn toward chilly, but you can still get your swim on during this month’s NAPs, held at the Dualis Oasis, an indoor temperature-controlled aquatic amusement park with giant slides, swimming pools, and lazy winding float rivers. Appropriate swimming gear is required for entry to this part of the park, but there are a number of shops just outside that will gladly sell you swimwear and accessories.

For those of you who wish to avoid a humid environment or just hate fun, a dehumidified lounge and restaurant offer quieter, dryer spaces for chatting and snacking. The actual speed-friending itself is in progress here, but you’re welcome to stick around and continue conversations with your new friends.

So c’mon, what are you waiting for? Just dive right in for fun and friendship - the water’s fine, fine, fine, just like everything else in this fair city. But hey, remember to play safe. No running!

"Perhaps," Nida allows. But frankly, it could be that in the end people will need people to make hard choices. Nida can and will do that. He does move to the counter and quietly inform the people there that he's paying for the swim trunks for the big guy.

"You ever do a lot of recreational stuff with water back home?"

Bull hadn't been entirely prepared for Nida to buy his trunks, but he wasn't going to protest, either. If the tables were turned, Bull would have done the same. Instead, he let the guy do what he was going to do and watched him. It was clear the guy held a lot of guilt over something, or some other negative emotion, but the Bull would need to get to know him better to pin down what.

He smirks at the question, giving a quiet but suggestive chuckle. "Depends on the kind of recreation you're talkin' about, big guy."

There will no doubt be plenty of chances for Bull to get to know him. Because while the big guy doesn't know Nida, Nida knows the man well enough, sort of, to inherently lend him some degree of trust. Is it logical? No. Is it wise? Probably not, in fact all of his training says that it's the worst idea ever. But still, Nida wants to try. Because he needs someone to talk to and he worries that he worries his brother too much.

"Well, in this particular case, I mean swimming and water slides and all the stuff here. Of course there is something to be said for showers."

"Nah." He looks out toward the park itself, up the towers and shaking his head. "Not really many water slides back on Thedas." And by the look on the big man's face, he wasn't too keen on climbing up there.

"Had a look at the showers, though. Those are nice."

"Maybe if you remember this place when you go home, you can figure out a way to set one up and make ALL the money," Nida suggests, his voice light with amusement.

Once he finishes paying (for the trunks and two large towels) he gestures for the door out to the poolside area, and thus the nearby changing rooms. Time to get the big guy into the water.

"The shower is a marvel of tech, isn't it? I appreciate it so much."

He laughs at that. If there's going to be any sort of settling down involved, it's going to be with a tavern, Nida, not a water park. "I'll try to remember. Might not be a bad idea." And now, the more he thinks about it... "The Vints would eat it up."

He follows dutifully enough, smirking at the dressing rooms. "Yeah, okay." And he nudges the big guy's shoulder as he heads off. "kinda cramped in there, though. You wanna give me a hand?"

Tavern? Don't tell Nida, he'll laugh pretty hard because of the fact that the Bull he had known had started brewing beer in the other village tavern. It would please him to see it be true with this Bull as well.

Still, with the nudge he smirks. Oh that's hilarious.

"You're not worried I'll make it way more cramped?"
