(Closed) Life with a roommate.

Who: Naminé & Finn the Human
What: Naminé is meeting her new roommate and getting used to the fact that she's living with someone.
Where: Room 203
When: Early Sept

She pushed open the door to her room open after checking and double checking the room number. This was the place. It was confirmed again when the thumb scanner buzzed and the door unlocked. She'd noticed that some of the rooms had roommates though she wasn't sure what to expect when she opened up the door.

The room looked relatively normal and there was a desk and bed for her.

There was also someone in the room.

"Oh." Naminé took a small step back just as the door closed behind her. "Hello. My name's Naminé. I- was told that this is my room." She really hoped that she was in the right place.

She didn't entirely understand his reaction but he seemed nice and close enough to Kairi's age, if not a little younger. Naminé smiled and nodded her head. "Yes. I am a girl. My name is Naminé. Is it okay if I stay here?"

She wondered if they would assign her another room or if Finn preferred not to have her as a roommate. This wasn't something she'd done before and her awkwardness showed.

"Uuuuhhhhhhhhhhh sure," he decides. He's never lived with a girl before, aside from his mom. Is it okay for girls and boys to live together? It must be, or they wouldn't have been assigned as roommates.

"Hi Naminé," he greets her again. "Welcome home, I guess!" He looks around the small room, which is already littered with an odd assortment of items. Dirty laundry forms a small pile next to his bed, but it contains only a couple of outfits identical to the one he's wearing now. A half-open desk drawer is filled with dirty coins, bottle caps and a fast food toy. Other items can be found strewn across both desks, Naminé's bed and the floor: a pristine new green backpack, an open package of batteries, empty soda containers, some dishes, a huge chunk of light amethyst that was pulled out of the dirt somewhere, a baseball bat, and various toys and small objects that could easily have come from a trash bin.

"You can put that stuff wherever."

Naminé didn't know if it was okay for boys and girls to live together. She had been prisoner to that room but both genders entered and exited freely. This would be nicer... she thinks.

"Thank you." She smiled at the welcome. "I've never had a home before." She was very excited but as she looked around the room her smile dropped into an uncertain frown. "Um... where do I sleep?" She didn't have too many things but she couldn't see where she could possibly put anything more.

"Don't you think it's a little... messy in here?"

"This is my bed," he explains, patting the mattress next to him, "so you can have that one." He's more than happy to welcome her here, especially if this is the first sort of home she's ever had. Home is real, real cruc(ial).

He tries to follow her gaze, but he's missing her point entirely.

"What do you mean?" This is the normal amount of mess, he thinks.

Naminé walked over to her bed and began to carefully clean it off. She placed the items on the nightstand next to the bed as a temporary placement. She'd have to find a better place to put everything.

When she was finished, she took a seat on the bed and surveyed the room again.

"Well, I can't use the desk or the drawers." Finn's things had exploded... everywhere. "And I don't want to step on something that's yours." She paused and tried to figure out how to explain. This was completely new territory for her. "I can clean up and put them away. Then they'll be safe from feet."

That almost sounded right.

"Oh." He frowns at the desk. Why can't she use it? And what does she want to use it for that requires nothing be on it? It sounds weird to him. Maybe it's a girl thing?

"Uh, yeah, okay. And I'll... I'll figure out where to put some of this stuff." Maybe if they had more shelves... He might go looking for furniture later.

"Really? Thank you. Um... in return." Naminé shifted and hopped off her bed though she realized that she wasn't sure how to make it safely across the room so she sat again.

"I want to buy a sketchbook and draw." It's what she needs the desk for. "Maybe I can draw you something too. If there is something you like."

"Oh, hey, you draw? That's cool. My brother Jake is pretty good at drawing too. And our other brother, Jermaine, paints."

He doesn't necessarily want a drawing of anything in particular, but he'll figure something out. You can never have too much creativity.

"Maybe you could draw them!"

"I could try. If you can describe them too me." She'd never drawn something using a description but Naminé would try her best.

"Do you have a lot of bothers? I don't have any siblings."

"I have two brothers," he explains. "They're dogs. Both their faces are kinda like this-" He pulls his cheeks down to illustrate Jake's jowl.

Wait.

What?

Naminés head canted curiously to the side, her crystal blue eyes bright and confused. "Your brothers are dogs? But you are a human, aren't you?" That did not make any sense to her but then maybe his family wasn't related to him by blood. She knew very little about that sort of thing but it was possible.

"Yeah." He lets his hands drop back to his lap. "Mom and Dad found me abandoned in the woods when I was a little baby." He shrugs. It was something he didn't like to think about for a long time, but now that he's met both of his human parents he's just grateful for the time he got with Joshua and Margaret.

"I wish I had brothers or sisters." Naminé spoke in a soft voice. "I never knew my parents either."

It was different for her, she never had parents, but she thought it was wonderful that Finn had been able to find a family anyway. She wished that maybe one day she'd find a family like that.

"They're the best," Finn has to agree. Jermaine might be kind of a wet blanket, but Jake is Finn's best friend in the whole world. He wouldn't trade that friendship for anything.

"But it's never too late to find a family, you know?"

She smiled at him. "I hope you're right. I really want to find my family too." Maybe that was here, Naminé didn't know but she had a lot of hope.

"I would like to get settled if that's alright." Which means she's going to clean up some of his things. "Then I should go find a job. If you need anything please let me know. I'd like... for us to be friends."

He grins at her.

"Yeah, I'd like that too."
