Who: Aqua and Naminé
What: Naminé is new to the city and just happens to find a keybearer in an unlikely place
Where: the Expresso
When: Early Sept
Warnings: there will probably be KH3 spoilers from one or the other. read with caution.

After all this time, Aqua has grown used to being alone. Having Ven here on this world has been a blessing she didn't have on the other one. But other than the two of them, she hasn't seen anyone they know in months. Living on these two worlds has been an adjustment and sometimes Aqua feels just as isolated as she did in the Realm of Darkness. Luckily, she hasn't had to fight a realm literally made of darkness here, so that's at least one step better than those long years she spent wandering the void.

Still, there are several faces she would know and many more she wouldn't. Today, when Naminé wanders in, Aqua has just finished her shift and is making her way out of the back rooms so she can head back to the dorms. She spots the blonde easily, mostly because her white dress stands out, and even though she isn't on the clock and can't technically work anymore today, Aqua finds herself gravitating towards the other girl. Something in her looks familiar.

"Hi," she says warmly. "If you're looking for a drink, we have a lot of options available."

Small delicate hands rest on the door handle, hesitating before entering.

Naminé had no reason to be nervous but she had experienced so little and it was hard to know where she was supposed to start. She'd learned that she needed a job and had asked where she could find one. That search had eventually lead her here. It was a coffee shop but she'd been told that it might need waitresses. It was a start and while her life was new, Naminé wanted to start living it.

Her light steps came to an abrupt stop when she saw the blue haired woman walk towards her. She was familiar though Naminé had only known her name. They had met once before, on a beach, but they hadn't spoken then. Ion had been showing her the seashells that washed onto the sandy shore.

"Yes. I mean, no." She shook her head. "I'm sorry. I was looking for a job as a waitress. But um... are you Master Aqua?"

It had to be and for some reason, a little part of Naminé hoped it was. She didn't know Aqua but this was someone she knew of.

Aqua is about to offer help in getting the girl to work here. In fact, her lips part and she's halfway through inhaling to say as much when the rest of the girl's words catch up to her. Surprise colors her face now. Plenty of people could have heard her name and know that the blue-haired girl in the city is named Aqua. But no one here would call her by her title, not even those who know her personally.

So who is this girl and how does she know that?

"Yes, I am," she answers. "Please, call me Aqua. I'm sorry, but I don't remember if we've met."

"We haven't but I have met Terra. He spoke your name to me." In a distant body-less world of memories and darkness. "You have also know Kairi. Right?"

Naminé didn't know how much she should say. It was awkward but she wanted to get to know the keyblade master that Terra had spoken of. She had sensed the light that had glimmered in his heart when he'd spoken his friends names: Aqua and Ven. Those names had been burned into Naminés' memories.

"I have wanted to meet you."

"You met Terra?" That sentence alone makes Aqua wonder when and how this girl met Terra and Kairi. "That's right. I met Kairi a long time ago, when she was still very young, and then again more recently. How do you know her?"

The idea of someone wanting to meet her isn't entirely unknown to Aqua. Given that she is one of the last Keyblade Masters, she shouldn't be surprised. But after everything she has been through, after being lost for so long, she wonders now if she has anything left to teach anyone.

"I am Kairi's Nobody. I was formed when she lost her heart." Naminé placed her hand over her chest and felt the gentle rhythm of her heart. "I don't think I am a Nobody anymore. They gave me my own body somehow but I was born from Kairi's heart." She would always feel connected to her, even if they were worlds away.

Naminé looked up with bright crystal blue eyes.

"I met Terra when I didn't have a body. He was lost too."

When Kairi lost her heart...? Surprise again colors Aqua's face. But Kairi was a pure heart of light and she'd seemed whole when Aqua had seen her again. Had something happened to her when Xehanort shattered her?

"Why don't we sit down to talk and you can tell me more about yourself?" she suggests, turning to lead them to a table off to the side and out of the way. "I've never heard of a Nobody before and I didn't know that Kairi lost her heart. Was that what Xehanort did to her at the final battle?"

None of them knew what that really did to her. Maybe her heart was lost, like Ven's was.

"Okay." Naminé followed behind her and took a seat at the table that Aqua lead them too.

She didn't know the whole story herself but she knew bits and pieces of it. "Xehanort was a Nobody. All of the organization was. They were husks or those without hearts. Kairi lost her heart when the heartless first came to Destiny Island but Sora kept it safe. Even so, she had a husk and I was created. I woke up in Castle Oblivion."

She placed her hands in her lap and waited.

Castle Oblivion. The name sounds familiar. But what catches Aqua's attention is the part about Sora. "Sora kept Kairi's heart safe? Like he kept Ven's heart safe?" Apparently, Sora was a keeper of hearts or something. He'd had Ven's heart all along and she never knew it. Of course he would keep his best friend's heart safe.

"Kairi is special and her heart is made of pure light. So you must be special, too, to have been born from that pure heart."

Naminé inclined her head in a gentle nod. "Maybe." She didn't feel particularly special.

"I think it is that reason that Kairi and I are separate. I do not have her memories and while we're connected, we aren't the same person. I was born of her but I do not hold any pieces of her with me." It was different for the other husks and the others in the organization.

"I don't understand it but I hope to learn more. About myself and what I am."

Aqua may not have known Naminé for very long at all, and she may have more questions than possible answers right now, but she can tell that Naminé is a good person and special, whether she believes it or not.

"Maybe I can help you," Aqua offers, before she can stop herself. She might not be in the best place to offer to help, but it's in her nature to try anyway. "We can work on learning together."

Naminé smiled. "I would like that very much." There was a lot that she didn't know and it would be nice to have someone to ask. Not just someone but a keyblade master. Naminé knew that Aqua would tell her the truth of things.

"Both with working and with myself and the worlds. I don't know very much but- I want to do my best." Like Sora would have done.

Aqua smiles softly, her expression fond. "That's all any of us can do," she points out gently. "We just try our best to learn and help others as we go."

And if Naminé is part of Kairi, born from Kairi's pure heart, then Naminé must be even more special than she believes.

"You've told me about how you came into being. What about your likes and dislikes? What do you like to do with your time?"

That was a difficult question for her.

"I'm not sure." She admited in her usual soft tone. "I like to draw and I like learning things but I haven't had the chance to do very much. I'd like to do more and see what I like and dislike."

She was also eager to taste different things now that she had a real body.

In a way, Naminé reminds Aqua of Ventus when he first came to them. Both of them have to learn about themselves and figure out their own likes and dislikes. All Aqua wants to do is protect Naminé and help her figure out how to live her own life.

"What if I try to help you figure it all out?" she suggests. "We could visit different places in the city on our free days or find other people to talk to. Maybe having something to do with someone else will help you learn what you really like."

Naminé nodded, an excited smile pulling over her features. "Yes. I'd like that very much." She wanted to experience as much of the world as possible and any other world that might be out there too. She wanted the adventures she'd seen in Sora's memories and the friends that stood at his side.

"Would you really want too? I was hoping to find an art store in the city. I like to draw."

"I would love to," Aqua assures her with a warm smile to match her words. "I'm not very good at anything that doesn't involve being a Keyblade Master-" A treacherous part of her whispers that sometimes she isn't even good at that. "-but I would be happy to learn alongside you. I only work part-time here, so I have plenty of free time."

Art is definitely out of her comfort zone. Maybe it would be good for her.

"Lets learn together!" She didn't know what went into being a Keyblade Master but it sounded like Aqua needed to try something new. Naminé didn't think it was a good idea for her to only be a keyblade master.

"Can we start by looking for an art store? I don't have a lot of money but I wanted to see if I could find something things."
