WHO; Loki & Drifter
WHAT; It's high time he commission someone to provide him with actual weapons

He would have to thank Hank later, showing him to the basement of Rick's bar and the plethora of information to be found there. Most promising, of course, was a message from a blacksmith, or one Loki hoped could smith him replacements for his daggers. He missed them, the mobility and the secrecy of them, and so he made his way down to the rec center, as recommended. He was dressed modernly, black pants, black jacket, white shirt, a smart, emerald scarf.

He watched the proceedings at the game stand before approaching once the man in the medallion, his target, was free. He smiled charmingly, inclining his head slightly in greeting.

"You seem like a man with gumption, sir. It's a pleasure." He makes the motion of noting the medallion with his eyes seem casual, and his next reply is spoken as one who's taken an interest in a novelty. "What a clever emblem. I believe I've seen it somewhere before."

Drifter runs a little game stand at the arcade/rec hall. Sometimes it's kids that come to use the squirt guns. Sometimes it's teenagers wanting to earn a prize and impress their sweetie with their aim. Very rarely some drunk sob story wanders over and blurbles some incoherent declaration before performing very poorly. Not often, but it does happen.

That sets the standard of his clientele.

When he gets someone new? He figures they're a customer. Except now he has to be discerning 'cause the Head is cracking down. Now that he can scan again though? He's been good about it. It's real easy to tell who he has to fib and promise he's on the straight and narrow to, and who he can cut a real good deal with.

Loki comes up and it takes him a good solid few seconds before making his call. He's seen him around the dorms, and when he looks under the counter at his hidden ghost, the small armored drone nods in silent confirmation.

He's good.

Drifter straightens up and extends a hand. "Gumption's a way to put it, Brother! You can call me Drifter. And believe me, the pleasure's all mine." He's a little proud of that symbol on his medallion, too. And Loki saying he saw it somewhere before? Either one of Drifter's jade coins has strayed, or Loki came across his little ad.

"I take it you're not here to earn a prize for your kid and I see you're sans a pretty soul to impress. So I'll close up shop and we can carry on this conversation elsewhere."

The Trickster God of Asgard didn't become as successful as he had by being unobservant, and he notes with a bit of curiosity as Drifter glances under his counter, but he doesn't question. One can never be too careful these days, and it would be foolish to assume Drifter didn't have some sort of failsafe in place to assure others were still their originals.

He chuckles at Drifter's question, shaking his head as he shakes the other man's hand. "No children, no. Thank Freya for that, and I'm between amorous pursuits at the moment." He inclines his head. "Loki, and it's yet to be seen who's in for the most pleasure. Lead the way."

"Right. Well, then. Let's get on this."

Drifter leads him to where he's stashed a suitcase, grabs said oversized suitcase, and takes it through a back door of the building into the next one. Back to a dark corner where he opens it up.

There's a round little platform in the middle. "Hop on. I'll be right after you. Just gotta make sure this is hid."

If Loki does as told, he'll find himself in the middle of Seifer's forge, complete with the broad assortment of freaky mannequins. There are some shared supplies, and Drifter has his own display of weapons up.

When he comes through the teleporter he dusts off his hands. "Private enough I reckon. What can I do you for?"

Loki did his best, which was fairly impressive, to hide his fascination with the device in the suitcase, but it was plain to anyone he was jealous. A smile touched his lips as he approached.

"A pocket teleport. Handy, that."

At least he assumed that was the device's function, a suspicion that was verified a moment later when he appears elsewhere, a makeshift armory if Loki is correct. In the short time he has alone before Drifter arrives, though, he can already the tell the work is done here by more than one hand.

He turns as Drifter dusts off his hands. "Your work space broadens my horizons. What can you do me for?"

"Guns. Knives. Swords. And even combinations thereof." Seifer and his gunblades. "Both me and the other fella workin' at this place have experience with infusin' weapons with some other properties. Say uh, like this pretty little thing."

He pulls a hand cannon off the wall, parts of it swirling with energy. "First kill with this one? Normal. But the next and the next? Bullets do more damage. The gun's pumped by your success. It only stacks three times and eventually that wears off when you cool off. But boy, helps you out when you got quite a few."

"Got some good snipers, too. A guy commissioned one and he never came by to pick it up."

The combination of a knife and a gun seemed cumbersome and in no way accurate for the latter, but Loki made a mental note of it nonetheless. His attention did perk up at the explanation, though. Enchantment was certainly useful. This weaponsmaster came with more and more surprises, it seemed.

Enchanted weapons, an unclaimed sniper rifle...Loki was becoming more and more glad he'd sought out this man. Smiling, he nodded appreciatively as he looked around.

"I'm partial to daggers, myself, though enchanted daggers would be even better." He turned back to Drifter. "And what's this about an unclaimed rifle? I trust the commission was paid up front?"

"Sniper was paid half up front. And, I'll show ya somethin'."

He removes a sword from the wall, and hands the gun to Loki with surprising confidence. As if he's not at all worried about what the man might do with it.

He positions himself a good twenty feet away, holding the sword like he's about to block another sword's blow. "They're enchantments that'll need topping up sometimes. Sorta like repairing a dull blade, but they're well worth it. Here, come on. Shoot at me!"

And if he does, the bullets will disappear in a haze in front of the sword.

"I do know a thing or two about enchantment." But that's all he's saying on the matter, more curious about this demonstration. He tries the weight of the weapon he's been handed, making no effort to mask being impressed by the weight of it.

It probably says something about him that he shrugs and raises the gun to take aim. "Alright." And then he was even more impressed.

"The sword?"

"Yessir, Brother! Hahaaa" he laughs wryly at it, pleased with the whole idea of how these things work. "The same juju that makes this sword hit heavy? And in this case, with added heat- 'solar light' we call it -it also lets you block incomin' attacks. Hell, this baby can deflect some serious damage so long as it's powered up."

He puts the weapon back and holds his hand out to take the pistol back.

"So what's your preference with enchantments? Any useful universal exclusives I should know about? See what I could dig up?"

"And what 'juju' is that, precisely? Magic? Witchcraft?" He willingly returns the pistol to its owner, thinking over what he's said about enchantments.

"Enchantments that increase durability are always useful, and lessen the need for honing." He glances back toward the sword, though. "I can dodge or catch an arrow, but stopping a bullet could be useful."

"'Light'. Think of it as bein' somewhere between science and magic." Which is beyond most people's ken. He doesn't know whether or not it's in Loki's wheelhouse.

"It takes three main forms of energy. 'Solar', 'Arc', and 'Void'. Meanin' heat, conductivity, and gravity plus mass get manipulated. Now we got a lotta exclusive parts to help us work out what a customer might be lookin' for. Blockin' a bullet? Definitely doable."

With a sword, anyway.

Strange. The description, albeit brief, describes the Dark magic in his own universe. Strange, yes, and also slightly ironic. Still, he nods his understanding. "Most magic worth any real note is found somewhere between science and itself," he said, to explain his understanding.

He looks thoughtful for a moment before posing the next question. "And what about daggers designed to work in tandem?"

"Yeah! I can do that for ya! What are you thinkin'."

Drifter hauls himself up to sit on a table, hands in his lap as his lightly kicks his feet and listens. Already thinking of a dozen or more ideas, but it's best to hear what the guy wants.

"I duel wield daggers. Two capable of deflecting bullets would be splendid." If he was going to war, which they all were, by the sound of it, something like that would be brilliant.

"They travel well." Especially when one could conjure them up.

"That it?" Drifter chuckles.

"Oh I could one up that. What do you want your daggers to do when you land a blow? Just cut 'em? Or do you want 'em to burn? Poison? Shock? Freeze?

"I take pride in my craft. Even if I work from nothin', I like knowin' I can make some of the most functional stuff out there." Even if it's not always the most ornate, he makes sure his weapons can kill.

"You want me to spice it up a little more? I will."

At that, Loki crossed his arms, smiling slightly. It was a challenge the man wanted, was it? Very well, blacksmith.

"Why not all of them, triggered randomly on a successful blow?"

"Depends on how much you're willin' to pay and how much you're willin' to spend on your charge during a fight. Yeah, I could do that."

But he's guessing Loki might be just messing with him.

"What I was suggestin' is if you had a theme you wanted to stick with."

"Funds are, indeed, a question, aren't they?"

He was thoughtful for a moment. "Perhaps I could supplement what I have with a service of some kind?"

"You have my interest."

Drifter leans back against a table behind him, crossing his legs at the ankles and tipping his head just a little in thought.

"What kinda services can you provide? Ah... within your moral limitations." Because Drifter, while he's not one to spend a lot of effort in harming others, sometimes it's a requirement as a means to an end.

"I see no reason to involve the lives of innocents." It was a finite statement. Loki's 'moral compass' wasn't precisely stuck on North, after all.

"What do you have in mind?"
