"I see your point, grandpa," Connor retorts quietly. Partly he just wants to tease Hank, but maybe it'll help to just act normal. After all, this is normal, for everyone but the people like them basically appearing out of nowhere.
He gestures them down a nearby side street, the best route back to the dorm that won't attract any attention. As they walk, he tries to stay off on one side of Hank, trying not to crowd the newcomer - presumably no longer Penny Farthing, and listening out for anything robot-like approaching them.
"I'm a traffic cop, they didn't issue me a taser yet." The glib answer. The serious answer: "The androids where we're from are sapient - they're people. The iterations here aren't. They just follow orders."
And there doesn't even seem to be the potential to grow beyond that, as androids had even when they weren't fully aware of it yet.
