Connor's got no objection to weird - he barely knows what normal is. But he's still getting used to things that aren't normal in the sense that they break the laws of physics right in front of his face. That's still pretty new to him. He falters a little at the teasing tone - not because he thinks he's being made fun of, but as his LED flickers yellow with the weight of trying to figure this out, he still feels like he's somehow the one making a big deal out of nothing here.
