He then takes his hand and shakes it in a firm grip. Not showing off, exactly. It's just a habit from boisterously greeting people at police functions, back in the day when he had the energy for that kind of thing. When he was glad to see new people on the force and wanted to clap his hands around theirs and show them he valued their service.

Feels like an era ago.

He settles against a counter, waiting for particular parties to get done with their ax-handling.

"It okay if I ask what you are? I mean, as far as I know you could be a human that had a confusing thing happen. I've seen a lot since I got here."
