The great thing about this is it's eating time. Both parties have to wait, and wait, and cool down, and wait (so long as they don't start fighting). It's often said that police work is "a waiting game" and it works to both detriment and benefit.

Which would possibly require a trip to the hospital and an inspection by a medical officer if violence or severe mental harm is necessary to record. Or?
