Look at all of these bright, shining new faces! There’s even a few less bright, less shining faces, but hey, this city welcomes all types. Chances are, if you’ve just arrived, you're seeing some pretty crazy things, unless you're used to an eye-blinding amount of neon, robots, weird-ass technology, magic, and an omnipresent police force...and hey, if you are, congrats, you're gonna settle in juuuuust fine. But for the rest of you, the Head knows this has gotta be pretty overwhelming, right?

and welcome to your monthly Network Adjacency Protocol~!

NAPs are a monthly community networking event similar to the Earth concept of speed dating! Two citizens (new arrivals and old hands alike) are placed at a table together with a handy cue card of queries to help break the proverbial ice. Ask queries and receive results, or ignore the card and yeet yourself straight into a brand new friendship! But don't be too shy, you've only got ten minutes together, and if you just sit in silence for the whole ten, the Network Admins are likely to come supervise and try to repair the uplink through a mild shock to the ol' central nervous system. You might find yourself saying all sorts of unintended facts about yourself if that happens...probably better to just make friends, right? Who doesn’t like friends?!

This month’s event is held at the brand new RoCocoa Cat Cafe, a sparkly new establishment that caters to children and the young at heart with iced and hot cocoa drinks of all kinds, delicious pastries, age-appropriate live music, and of course many friendly kitties who love to lounge in laps. The cats are of all shapes, sizes, and colors, including some who may look a little different from what you expect, or may look like an ordinary cat but are actually anything but ordinary underneath that adorable fur coat. All cats in the cafe are adoptable, too, if you meet a new furry friend and just can’t bear to go home without them!

So pull up a chair, get to know your new neighbors, and enjoy a sugary treat or two with the resident furbabies. You might just meet your new two- or four-legged best friend!

I guess. I like the thought of them, but I don't want something that's flimsy.

[Especially when it came to being here. He's been told Nida's a mechanic, but him? He wouldn't have the first idea of how to repair anything that went wrong. He puts his elbow on the table, resting his chin on his palm.]

Are they unreliable? In general. How often do they need to be looked at?

It's only flimsy if you attempt to wreck it. Would you really try and wreck a thing of poetry and beauty like that? If so, we might not be able to be friends.

[Wait, is this guy really interested? Interesting.]

Better fuel efficiency than a car, they're good for avoiding traffic. Most people don't know how to drive them well so they don't get stolen as often. There's a serious security risk at the key hole, but that's fixable. And they need tended to, but a lot of bike shops have associated mechanics you can go to. My place does a discount. And if you got one, I'd look at it for free, just to get my hands on a bike, even if only to make sure her oil was good.

[He's not going to mention the fact that he wants to leave the city. Or that he'll need something that can take a licking and keep on kicking for whatever's out there. Even if theres nothing, just the dust'd destroy anything before long. But it's not Nida himself (for once) that causes him to not share the information. It's more the fact this is a NAP. What they're saying has to be monitored. It's the point of this, isn't it?

Anyway. He can appreciate the Shinra for one thing. Their automotives are definitely a step above what he's seen here.]

I love bikes, a lot. There are a few options if you want sturdy. I know a dealer in town that could hook you up. If you've got the funds.

[Funds were the only reason Nida hadn't acquired one yet, despite wanting it. There was plenty else he had to buy first.]

Maybe. I don't know, I'm pretty busy with work.

[And Seifer's forge, of course. And honestly, that's what's most important. For the time being, anyway. He doesn't have time to do other things- especially as now he's getting more work. He's starting to become trusted in the underground, and as such, he spends more time out than not.]

Might make trips easier, though. I'll think about it.

[But but Nida's grinning as he looks at Cloud and the guy says 'make trips easier.' Oh yeah, he's happy to convince a man like this.]

[Both the grin and the comment is met with a blank stare. He blinks, and it's pretty clear he doesn't understand either. He turns his eyes to the floor as he speaks.]
