blitzcheer: (don't trust my dad)

The hug may only mean to be brief, but Tidus puts an arm around her in turn, to take the comfort offered in it, but also to give it back; for what she saw, the tears she shed to see it again when she told him. He lets his head rest close to hers, though shakes it slightly when he eventually speaks.

“No,” he says firmly, more so once he catches his breath. “No, don’t apologise. We need to know the truth. If we don’t, we’ll never be ready. I need to know too.”

He pulls back to look at her, his brow pulled tight. Pained, but with an anger less wild, becoming more resolved. He had to be more determined than he was. He couldn’t let that happen to anyone around him, when and if that time came again. If that time came for him.

“We’re not alone. If you ever need someone… I don’t care what, my name’s Tidus.” He cracks a smile, as small and joyless as it is. “No staying in the dark anymore, right? We do what we can to survive. I'm not going anywhere without a fight.”
